Achieving a free armswing is synonymous with removing tension from your hand and arm. When working on achieving a free armswing, reducing tension starts even before we perform the ball start. To get a swing with zero wasted energy and minimal tension, try these tips:
- Get your grip checked. A well-fitted ball reduces grip pressure, which reduces tension in the swing.
- In the stance, support the weight of the bowling ball with your non-bowling hand.
- Start the ball and allow gravity to drop the ball into the backswing. Tension at the start of the swing will stay there throughout.
