Many people make New Year’s resolutions, which are essentially goals for the upcoming year. Bowlers often set goals such as attaining a higher average or making more cuts in tournaments. However, outcome-oriented goals such as these should not be the end of the goal-setting process.
To set performance or process goals, simply ask yourself “How?” once you’ve set an outcome goal. For each outcome goal, try to set at least three process goals which are steps toward achieving that goal. Here is an example:
Outcome goal: Achieve a 200 average.
