The Track Heat X-Treme is a solid-covered bowling ball that joins the polished and pearlized Heat in Track’s mid-performance line. It features a coverstock called QR-5 Solid that has a very rough 500/2000 Abralon factory finish. This ball shares the modified Tri-Core with the Heat, making the only differences between the two Heats their coverstock types and box finishes. This ball is much rougher than both the Tour X Solid and the Tour SiC, which were the last solid-covered balls in this line.
The Heat X-Treme’s strong solid coverstock gave our testers their best reactions on our heavy oil test pattern. Its rough surface finish allowed it to pick up strongly in the midlane, giving us a strong yet smooth reaction to the pocket. We could miss right of our target and the Heat X-Treme would still give us some downlane recovery. This was something we didn’t expect from a ball that picked up as strong as this ...
