The 503C marks the return of a “C” ball to the 500 series of Track bowling balls. This one has a few differences. The name tells us that the 503C has a different core from the 505 balls of the last few years. The new Pakman core has a lower intermediate differential, but a higher RG and differential than the Shuttle core that was used in all of the 505s. The 503C also has a new veneer called MP Gen 4C.
The new core, surrounded by this new shell, gave us a wonderful benchmark type reaction on our medium test pattern. All three testers were able to take full advantage of the smooth, controllable transitions the ball made rolling down the lane. The shiny finish prevented the ball from reading the pattern too early, and the lower friction coverstock kept the 503C from reacting too strongly to the dry boards.
