The Storm Joy Ride is the second release in the Ride series. It uses the same low differential symmetrical Cruiser core that we saw in the first Ride. The Joy Ride uses a pearlized version of the Reactor coverstock with the same 1500 grit box finish. At first glance, we thought the Joy Ride would be a weaker version of the Ride because of the change to the pearl cover, with everything else remaining the same. We were wrong, however, and that is why we test the balls!
The Joy Ride was best on our medium pattern, giving us a stronger change of direction and more total hook than the Ride. All three testers played straighter through the front of the lane on this
