The new Taboo Spare is a ball that is sure to spark interest. Hammer has taken the Gas Mask core and inserted it into a brightly colored polyester coverstock.
With such a low friction polished veneer, it is no surprise we had the best match up on our dry test pattern. When this pattern is fresh, there is plenty of back end friction to get the Taboo Spare back to the pocket. Even with clean back ends, Stroker and Tweener were still playing very close to the headpin. When they gave the ball room to the right, there wasn’t enough traction created by the cover to give them the recovery needed to hit the pocket consistently. Cranker was able to play a small swing shot to start on this pattern, but as the session went
