The Hammer Spike Black/Gold is the third release under the Spike name. The weight block is the same Black Widow Nasty core that was used in the previous two Spikes. The change for this season is the coverstock. The Spike Black/Gold uses the Grand Theft Reactive IV Hybrid coverstock to add to the GTR III Pearl and GTR III Solid covers on the older two Spikes. This ball will fit between the last two Spikes in length and total hook, making it a viable option on medium light patterns.
With its polished box finish, this Spike was most useful on our medium test pattern. The extra length from the higher grit under the polish pushed us farther right on this pattern. All three testers were within five boards of each other at
