The Lit Pearl is the follow-up to the original Lit in the high performance Columbia 300 Red Line collection. This Lit uses the same Lit Asymmetric core design as the original, but in this version it is paired up with the Reflex XS Pearl coverstock. It comes out of the box polished after 500 and 1000 Abralon finishing steps, providing very easy length with a strong move off the back of the pattern. As expected, we saw much more length out of this ball than from the sanded original Lit and similar length to the Tyrant Pearl. The Lit Pearl’s polished shell is very conducive to medium length and medium volume patterns.

Our fresh medium test pattern was best for Tweener and Stroker. Stroker was starting his ball on 13, crossing just outside the second arrow, and getting all the way out to six at the breakpoint. Shots that he tugged inside of target saw enough traction on the fresh back ends to allow them to strike. Tweener saw a similar motion with his Lit Pearl. He was deeper into the pattern with his laydown at 22, crossing 16 at the arrows on the way to a breakpoint on the eight board. If he leaked it a little right on the fresh, he could trip the
