The Freeze Hybrid is the newest addition to the Freeze line. Columbia 300 revolutionized the entire bowling ball market with the introduction of the Freeze in 2009. For the first time, consumers were able to throw a bowling ball with a high performance coverstock at a low mid-price point. Other manufacturers took note and thus the increase in competition at this price point. There have been Freeze releases since the original one three years ago, but this is the first time the coverstock itself has been changed and not just the color. The Freeze Hybrid uses a hybrid formulation of the New Era reactive coverstock.
The added traction given by the solid in the coverstock matched this ball up best with the medium test pattern.
