The Ninja SE is the latest in a series of retro remakes for AMF. Years ago, we got the Cobra SE and the Bull Whip SE, and more recently we got the Night Hawk SE. The new Ninja SE uses the low RG (2.48″) and high differential (0.054″) Shredder core surrounded by the F70 Solid reactive coverstock. It uses the NEAT finishing system and comes out of the box prepped with a T pad, which corresponds approximately to a roughness of 4000 grit.
The Ninja SE was best at getting to the pocket on our medium test pattern, with our Cranker tester having the best look. Its moderate sanded box finish was rough enough to pick up strong in the midlane, giving him hook in the puddle while still getting far enough down the lane before making its move toward the pocket.
