The Protocol uses the s70 reactive cover and a brand new core. The manufacturer claims that the new core shape is not altered in any way by drilling holes. They say the starting RG and differential are what you end up with post drilling. We do not have an RG swing or any other way to put these claims to the test, but there is no denying what a great performing bowling ball they have produced.

The Protocol was just slightly better on our medium test pattern than it was on the heavy. This ball revved up strongly in the midlane, was strong at the breakpoint, and set up for a big back end motion. All the testers could cheat inside and the Protocol still...
